Po Chi Wu

Dr. Po Chi Wu is a Visiting Professor in the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley, and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business and Management at The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

A highly successful international venture capitalist and entrepreneur, he has lived and worked both in the United States and in Asia, and brings a unique perspective and the rich context of more than 30 years of experience and insight into the challenges of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Co-founder and Managing Director of DragonBridge Capital, an investment advisory firm that focused on early-stage technology-focused companies in China, he was also co-founder and President of Allegro Capital, a successful venture capital firm in Silicon Valley.

He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemical Sciences from Princeton University and has a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. His family includes several generations of illustrious scholars – his great-grandfather was a Hanlin Scholar in the Ching Dynasty. His father, Prof. Ta-You Wu, retired from the Presidency of the Academia Sinica in Taiwan at the age of 88, and was known as “The Father of Modern Physics in China.”
