Uncertainty Isn’t New. But This Moment Is.

Uncertainty isn’t new, but its flavor has been different lately. We sat with that feeling in our April CEO Hub for a moment. The macroeconomic signals, the geopolitical instability, the shifting ground under our teams—none of it is simple. And none of us are immune to its weight.
Here’s what stood out:
Uncertainty is cumulative. It shows up in work, in families, and in our heads at 3 a.m. We don’t have separate “reserves” for each area of life. The load adds up.
Control matters. The more we can identify what’s within our control—and what isn’t—the more we can move from stress into strategy.
Stories shape action. Your team is living inside a narrative. If you’re not helping shape it, someone else (or some algorithm) is.
The process builds trust. Even when outcomes are murky, a clear process gives people something to hold onto. So does showing up with consistency and values.
This is the real work of leadership right now—not waiting for the fog to lift but leading through it anyway. And that’s why these Hub conversations matter. They aren’t theories. They’re real-time, peer-driven, and grounded in what CEOs are actually facing right now.
If you’re already in the room—thank you. Your candor and presence shape these conversations in powerful ways.
If you’re not yet participating, consider this a nudge. These hubs aren’t just a professional resource—they’re an investment in your ability to lead, grow, and stay grounded when it counts most.
See you in the next conversation,
Matt
