Smarter Systems, Healthier Futures: Spirit Health Foundation's Role in Addressing Global Health Inequities

With Subject Matter Experts

Rich Bryson, Co-Founder and CEO of Spirit Health Foundation
Matt Sitter, CEO, AFN

Due to current systems, less than half of people in Sub-Saharan Africa get the healthcare they need, resulting in many lost lives. Spirit Health is a market leader—its platforms and services are used across the NHS in the UK and in over 20 countries internationally.

Spirit Health Foundation is an independent non-profit that provides Spirit Health's Clinitouch platform and a full range of services for free to country partners (support worth millions of dollars) and works with them to build smarter health systems that save lives. Their current partners include the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the Ministry of Health in Eswatini (funded by USAID), and Unjani Clinics in South Africa.

Their initial goal is to enable 30 million people in underserved communities to get essential healthcare by 2030, focusing on maternal and child health.

The session will explore:
• Why and how Spirit Health Foundation launched in 2023

• What the health challenges are in underserved communities across Sub-Saharan African countries

• How the Foundation uses novel digital health solutions to address these challenges

• Why simpler, smarter systems are needed to make health accessible for everyone on earth

• How AI can be harnessed responsibly and ethically to address global health inequities

• Why innovative private, public, and philanthropic partnerships are needed more than ever
